Building Basics: The 90s Retake Guide
AdminJuly 8, 202624 views
Building is what separates Fortnite from every other BR. If you can't do 90s, you'll never win high-level box fights. Here's the exact technique.
The Basic 90s Sequence
| Step | Build | Direction | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Floor | Forward | Start |
| 2 | Ramp | Up-forward | Immediately after floor |
| 3 | Wall (right) | 90-degree right | During ramp animation |
| 4 | Floor | Forward | Jump |
| 5 | Ramp | Forward | Mid-air |
| 6 | Repeat | -- | -- |
Common Mistakes
- Too slow: 90s should take < 2 seconds per rotation
- Wrong crosshair placement: Look slightly upward when placing ramps
- No jump timing: Jump RIGHT after placing the last wall
Builder Pro Controller Settings
- Build Mode: Builder Pro
- Sensitivity: 6.5/6.5 (for building)
- Edit Mode: Confirm on Release (ON)
- Turbo Building: ON
- Sprint by default: ON
- Reset builds: Right stick click
- Edit aim assist: OFF (faster edits)
Practice routine: Go to Creative Mode > BHE 1v1 map. Spend 15 minutes doing ONLY 90s. Don't shoot. Then 15 minutes of box fighting. Do this for 1 week and you'll go from zero build fights to winning 60% of your box fights. In the MENA Fortnite scene, mechanical skill is EVERYTHING -- if you out-build your opponent, you win 90% of engagements.
