Pick the Right Lane

Honor of Kings has 5 roles. Here's what each one does:

Clash Lane (Top)

Difficulty: Medium Heroes: Bixi, Lian Po, Arthur, Sun Ce

Your job: soak damage and start fights. Stand in front of your team and disrupt the enemy formation.

Pro tip: Freeze the minion wave near your tower. Let the enemy push, then your jungler can gank easily.

Mid Lane

Difficulty: Medium-Hard Heroes: Diaochan, Angela, Menki, Zhou Yu

Your job: clear waves fast, then roam to side lanes. Every time you clear mid wave, you have 10-15 seconds to help top or bottom.

Pro tip: Always contest the river spirit. It gives your whole team extra gold and XP.

Farm Lane (Bottom)

Difficulty: Hard (positioning required) Heroes: Hou Yi, Luban No.7, Marco Polo, Gongsun Li

Your job: farm safely in early game, carry in late game. Do NOT die in the first 5 minutes.

Pro tip: Last-hit every minion. A single missed minion wave is 150 gold lost.

Jungle

Difficulty: Hardest Heroes: Han Xin, Li Bai, Han Shin, Jing Ke

Your job: clear jungle camps, gank lanes, secure objectives (Dragon and Tyrant).

Pro tip: Path from blue buff to red buff, then gank the nearest lane at Level 4.

Roam (Support)

Difficulty: Medium Heroes: Cai Wenji, Sun Bin, Zhang Fei, Niunai Tuan

Your job: provide vision, peel for carries, and control the map with roams.

Pro tip: Buy the roaming item first, then stick with your jungler for the first 2 minutes.

Essential Settings

• Turn on map indicator (shows enemy pings on minimap)
• Enable auto-aim assist for skillshots
• Set quick item purchase to recommended builds
• Turn off auto-attack (you lose lane control with it on)
