Crewmate Guide: How to Never Get Tricked

AdminJuly 8, 2026406 views

Crewmate gameplay

Being a good Crewmate is harder than being Impostor. Here's the system used by top players to never get fooled.

The Color Memory System

ColorTypical RoleWatch For
RedGets voted out firstActually often crewmate
BlueClaims admin tasksCheck admin table
BlackPlays silentlyPossible impostor
PurpleSelf-proclaimed detectiveOften wrong
YellowTask-pusherTrustworthy (usually)
WhiteFollowerMani-- END

Task Verification System

Visual tasks you can confirm:

  • Weapons: Asteroids animation (visible to all)
  • Shields: Shield bubble (visible to all)
  • MedBay: Scan (visible to all)
  • Electrical: Divert power sparks (visible near the panel)

Non-visual tasks people lie about:

  • Download (anywhere with the folder icon)
  • Wires (any room with wires)
  • Keys (Admin, Storage, Security)
  • Card swipe (Admin)
Crewmate Decision Flowchart
1. Did you see them kill? -> Yes: REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY
2. Did you see a visual task? -> Yes: They are crewmate, defend them
3. Did you see them near a body? -> SUSPICIOUS, but not proof
4. Did they fake a task? -> EJECT them (watch the task bar move or not)
5. Are they following you for 30+ seconds? -> They're either impostor or bad crewmate
6. Did they skip voting twice? -> SUSPICIOUS (good crewmates vote to narrow suspects)

Crewmate tips

The single best crewmate tip: Watch the task bar. If a meeting is called and the task bar is at 10%, but someone claims they did 3 tasks, they're lying. The task bar only moves when a player completes a task. Commit each player's claimed tasks to memory. The task bar doesn't lie. This is the most underused crewmate tool in SEA servers -- players there rely too much on social deduction and not enough on task tracking.
